Our Value
Who We Are
We started as a land and farm, Black-led centric-centered agriculturists workgroup; however, we soon discovered that being just a high-energy workgroup was not enough, there was something missing.
After six-years of organizing several listening sessions with landowners, chemistry companies, BIPOC farmers, Black farmers organizations, land trust agencies, small business associations, and having a seat at the decision-making table, it was clear that what was need.
Land2SOW has transformed its mission to coincide with what is the real issue is, and that is no representation at the decision-making tables.
We move under a shared set of behaviors and principles. Our end goal is to unify and enable independent producer-led contractual agreements that are equitable in nature, while providing BIPOC entities a supply-chain pathway that is sustainable and that provides products and services that increases the greater good of humanity, transforms the current food deserts created by the efforts to segregate U.S. cities into predominantly Black and predominantly white neighborhoods through federal urban planning and housing policies; our mission is to construct an agricultural reparations system that addresses the ongoing practices of both unconscious and conscious biases that exist in the open economy market of the past and the present.
MOTTO, AFFIRMATION, & CREED
Our lineage is part of our DNA, but building generational wealth is our business.
Our WHY
Our mission is to expose the exclusion practices that perpetrate a supplier’s cash flow that supports the inequity and inequalities of local business practices; such practices that are, and/or could be perceived as discrimination acts. Discriminatory acts that are grounded in discouraging or rejecting/denying potential BIPOC farmers and/or landowners the opportunity to purchase goods/services as a way to reduce or eliminate a competitive agricultural market.

In 2020, after the killing of George Floyd, Yolanda Tremble (founder of Land2SOW) wrote a corporate posted that was shared on the company's intranet, it was a call to action from her to the company and to her colleagues. To provide context, she was the only minority, black female and over 35 years of age employee in a small digital team of six. Often feeling isolated, purposely excluded from final decision-maker executions, she explained in the post that the company was loosening ground due their inability to capitalize on diverse perceptive. The lack of diverse engagement resulted in constant low level outputs, one dimension thinking and a subpar quality. It's proven that a collective and inclusion culture creates a range of cognitive-group thinking which produces more sustainable outcomes, that have a positive impact on the overall company's ROI and its people.
Taking this example and offering her own capabilities in business acumen, and understanding that it takes the entire village to make a change, Land2SOW has position itself to being one of the catalysts in the migration and repositioning our stance on how BIPOC landowners manage their land, and how they should work alongside farmers verses independently of each other.
